Q:  What components are included in the package?

• Brackets: CNC-machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with a brushed satin finish.
• Hardware: All necessary spacers and zinc-coated fasteners.
• Power Steering Pump: A new aluminium "Type 2" pump with 5.5” pulley.
• Power Steering Reservoir: GM style baffled remote reservoir with mounting bracket and 5/8" feed hose
• Pulleys: Water pump pulley and idler pulleys.
• Tensioner: Automatic spring-style tensioner.
• Adapters: SBC crank pulley with a BBC (1966–1993) crank pulley adapter.

Q:  What additional components are required for a complete installation?

A: The following parts are not included and must be sourced separately:

• AC Compressor: Sanden 508/709 HD compressor. We offer a Genuine Sanden, PN 10300-01. 
• Water Pump: A reverse-rotation "long" water pump (found on 1988–2000 454 engines). We offer a Gates PN 44030.
• Alternator: A CS130 serpentine alternator (standard on 1990–1995 GM trucks) or a compatible high-output 1-wire unit.  We offer a PowerMaster 140 amp, PN 47861
• Drive Belt: A 6-rib serpentine belt.  Suggested lengths and Gates part numbers can be found in our installation instructions.

Q: Which engine platforms are compatible with the K10655 bracket system?

A: This system is engineered for all Big Block Chevy (BBC) engines, including Mark IV, Gen 5, and Gen 6 architectures. It is compatible with both standard and tall-deck blocks, covering displacements from 366 to 572 cubic inches.

Q: What is required for BBC engines manufactured between 1994 and 2000?

A: The standard kit includes a crank pulley adapter for 1966–1993 engines. If you are using a 1994–2000l Gen 5 or Gen 6 engine, a different crankshaft adapter is required for proper harmonic balancer fitment. Please call or email and we will send the correct adapter.

Q: What specific A/C compressor is required for this system?

A: The K10655 is designed for the Sanden 508 (SD5H14) or Sanden 709 (SD7H15) style compressor. We recommend and offer the 709 model for its smoother operation and increased cooling capacity. 

Q: What water pump specifications must be met for installation?

A: This system requires a reverse-rotation "long" water pump, typically found on 1988–2000 454 truck engines. We offer a Gates PN 44030. Standard-rotation v-belt pumps are not compatible.

Q: How does the included Type-2 power steering pump differ from other options?

A: The Type-2 pump (Saginaw CB style) is significantly more compact than the classic P-series "canned ham" pump. It is designed for use with a remote-style reservoir.

Q: Which alternator model is compatible with the K10655 bracket?

A: The bracket is designed for a GM CS130 serpentine alternator (standard on 1990–1995 GM trucks). We offer a PowerMaster 140 amp, PN 47861.

Q: How is the belt length determined for this configuration?

A: The system uses a single 6-rib serpentine belt. Because pulley diameters and alternator selections vary, a belt is not included. The installation manual provides a reference chart with suggested Gates part numbers based on common setups. Final length must be verified on the vehicle to ensure the tensioner is within its proper operating range.

Q: Does this kit provide clearance for aftermarket components?

A: Yes. The accessories are mounted "high and tight" to the block. The A/C compressor is positioned on the passenger side, while the alternator and Type-2 pump are on the driver’s side. This layout provides maximum clearance for large steering boxes and tall aftermarket valve covers.
