Description

Sanden Mini AC Compressor Bracket for Chevy LT Gen 5 Truck Engines (L84, L87, L8T, 2020+) with centered water pump

Here’s how to add a fixed-displacement AC compressor to your late-model Chevy Gen 5 truck engine in a way that saves space and is easy on your swap budget.

You get to keep your factory balancer, water pump, alternator and belt tensioner.  We add a bracket that mounts a Sanden Mini compressor tucked in close on the passenger side of the engine.

The Sanden Mini (SD7B10) is compatible with aftermarket and most older OEM AC systems.  It has plenty of capacity for any vehicle up to a large station wagon or Suburban.

This bracket system can be run with a factory L8T bracket and power steering pump, or the one we like best, a Kwik Performance bracket that mounts a P-Series GM style pump. See part number K10755.

Note:

The water pump housing must have a machined surface on the passenger’s side of the casting to accept an L8T belt tensioner. The following casting numbers can be found on the face of the water pump housing: 12383468, 12687631, 12707680, 12708893.

Some 1500 pickups with 5.3L and 6.2L engines (L82 L84 and L87) have the centered water pump but did not use a spring-loaded tensioner and therefore the casting was not machined. For example, some, but not all of casting number 12383468 are machined.

All 6.6L (L8T) engines use a spring-loaded tensioner and will have the correct water pump, casting number 12707680.

Installation Instructions

FAQs

Q: What specific engine applications is the K10750 A/C bracket designed for?

A: This bracket is engineered specifically for 2020 and newer Gen V LT truck engines, including the L84 (5.3L), L87 (6.2L) and L8T (6.6L). It is designed to align with the unique centered water pump and harmonic balancer offset found on these engines. (Note: This centered water pump may also be found on some 2019 engines. Confirm your version before ordering.)

Q: Will this bracket fit 2014–2019 LT truck engines (L83/L86)?

A: No. The earlier Gen V LT truck engines utilize a different offset water pump design. For 2014–2019 L83/L86 applications, you can use Kwik Performance part number K10702.

Q: Which A/C compressor model is required for this bracket?

A: The K10750 is designed exclusively for the Sanden SD7B10 "Mini" (7176) compressor. This compact compressor is highly favored in swap applications because its small footprint allows for maximum clearance without sacrificing cooling performance for most passenger compartments.

Q: What belt tensioner do I need?

A: You’ll need to source a belt tensioner used on 2020+ L8T (6.6L) engines from 2500 and 3500 trucks.  Also review the note above regarding the requirement for a smooth machined surface on your water pump.

Q: Where is the compressor positioned on the engine?

A: This is a high-passenger-side mount bracket. By positioning the compressor high and tight to the cylinder head, it provides critical clearance for frame rails, steering components, and suspension crossmembers that often interfere with low-mount factory compressors in swap projects.

Q: Does this bracket work with Corvette, Camaro, or CTS-V LT engines?

A: No. This bracket is spaced specifically for the 2020+ LT Truck offset. It will not align with the offsets used on LT1/LT4 passenger car engines.

Q: What components are included in the K10750 kit?

A: The kit includes CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum main brackets, a smooth-surface idler pulley, precision-machined aluminum spacers, and all necessary zinc-plated mounting hardware.

Q: Is a serpentine belt included in the package?

A: No. Suggested lengths and Gates part numbers are provided in the instructions for standard configurations.

Q: Can I use a larger Sanden 508 or 709 compressor with this bracket?

A: No. The mounting "ears" and spacing of the larger Sanden 508/709 series are different from the SD7B10 Mini. If your application requires the larger HD compressor, check out Kwik Performance part number K10581.
