What's included:

• Brackets made of 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum (brushed satin finish)

• SBC crank pulley with BBC (1966-93) crank pulley adapter

What else is required to complete the installation:

• GM BBC engine (1966-1993) or (1994-2000) 366, 396, 402, 427, 454, 502, 572
• Six-rib belt, See our included installation instructions for suggested lengths and Gates part numbers.
• Alternator rating and PS pulley diameters can change suggested lengths.
• Always check tensioner marks for correct fitment.
• Sanden Mini AC compressor (also known as SD7B10 (Kwik Performance PN 10266-01).
• This AC compressor also requires a manifold style fitting kit -Straight Manifold (Kwik Performance PN K10550). -Curved Manifold (Kwik Performance PN 342310).
• CS130 (serpentine) Alternator (GM Truck 1990-1995) - We offer a PowerMaster 1-wire alternator: (Kwik Performance PN 47861).
• Remote-style Power Steering Reservoir. We offer a remote reservoir (Kwik Performance PN K10267). We also have a reservoir mounting bracket to attach it to your Alt/PS bracket (Kwik Performance PN K10271)
• A reverse rotation water pump off of a 1988-1999 454 engine. Consider our Gates replacement Water Pump: (Kwik Performance PN 44030). This is considered a "long" pump and is 7 5/16" from block to fan mounting surface.

General Product FAQs

• What is the primary purpose of the K10278 bracket kit? It is a complete serpentine upgrade system that mounts a Sanden Mini (SD7B10) AC compressor on the passenger side and a Type-2 power steering pump with an alternator on the driver side.
• What engines is this kit compatible with? It fits all Mark IV, Gen 5, and Gen 6* Big Block Chevy engines (standard or tall deck) ranging from 366 to 572 cubic inches.

*Gen 5 and Gen 6 harmonic balancer require a different crank pulley adapter. Call to have this switched out at no extra charge.

• Does this kit clear tall valve covers? Yes, the brackets are designed to provide clearance for tall valve covers, making them ideal for high-performance builds.
• Why does this kit use a Type-2 power steering pump? The Type-2 pump (remote reservoir style) is more compact than P-series pumps, allowing the alternator and pump to be tucked in tight for maximum steering box clearance.

Compatibility & Installation

• Which AC compressor is required? You must use a Sanden Mini SD7B10 (Model 7176) compressor. This compressor also requires a manifold-style fitting kit (either straight or curved). 
• What water pump is needed for this system? A reverse rotation water pump from a 1988–1999 454 engine is required. • Is a specific belt size recommended? The system uses a six-rib belt. While the exact length depends on your alternator and pulley size our installation instructions have suggested lengths and Gates part numbers.

• What is included in the package? The package includes aluminum brackets, all spacers and zinc-coated fasteners, a power steering pump, an automatic spring-style tensioner, idler pulleys, a water pump pulley, and a crank pulley with adapter.
• What if I have a 1994–2000 BBC engine? The standard kit includes a crank pulley adapter for 1966–1993 engines. If you have a 1994–2000 engine, you should contact Kwik Performance to ensure you receive the correct adapter for your specific crank.
