Here’s how to add a power steering pump and a Sanden Mini AC compressor to your 2014-2019 LT truck engine.


This kit is similar to our part number K10702 except It uses the Sanden Mini AC compressor (SD7B10) rather than the larger Sanden HD compressor (SD7H15). Here’s the problem this bracket kit solves: The L83 and L86 engine donor trucks used electric power steering assist and also used a variable displacement AC compressor.  Your project vehicle probably has hydraulic power steering and maybe an aftermarket AC system.  This bracket kit gives you a Type 2 power steering pump and a place to add a Sanden mini AC compressor which is a fixed displacement compressor that is compatible with most aftermarket and older OEM AC systems.

What you might find unusual is mounting the power steering pump on the passenger’s side of the engine. We do that because these engines have an offset water pump taking up space on the driver’s side. There is a potential location low on the driver’s side where GM put a vacuum pump. We know hotrodders may remove that pump but we figured GM put there for a reason and we didn’t want to force builders to remove it.

The solution to a power steering pump on the passenger’s side is simply longer PS hoses and we offer a custom kit that will work great with C10 and C1500 OBS (1988-98) trucks and has been used on front steer GM cars as well. See part number K10549.

    • How do I handle power steering hoses since the pump is on the opposite side? Because the pump is on the passenger side, you will need longer hoses. Kwik Performance offers a specific Power Steering hose kit (K10549) designed for C10 and OBS trucks to solve this.
