Low-Mount AC bracket for LS engines with Camaro F-Body (1998-2002) or GTO (2004-06) crank pulley and water pump spacing.

This bracket mounts the “mini” Sanden SD7B10 (7176) compressor in the stock AC location. The “mini” compressor is shorter than the stock compressor. This allows clearance for most aftermarket motor mount adaptors that locate the motor in “stock” position.

Our overall width is just 12.5” from the center of the engine to the outer edge of the compressor. This also has an advantage over the stock compressor for frame / crossmember clearance. May not work with Holley Gen 1 or 2 Camaro engine mounts or slotted, adjustable style mounts.

It must be used with a matching F-Body/GTO harmonic balancer to ensure correct belt alignment. It is a perfect solution for keeping the top of the engine clean in these specific chassis swaps.

    Q: Which AC compressor is required for this specific bracket?

    A: The K10420 is designed exclusively for the Sanden SD7B10 "Mini" compressor. This compact unit allows for a low-mount position that typically clears frame rails and crossmembers better than the bulky factory GM compressors.

    Q: Does this bracket system require a dedicated belt or does it run off the main serpentine belt?

    A: This system utilizes a dedicated 4-rib belt that runs off the inner-most track of the harmonic balancer. By keeping the AC on its own belt, we ensure that the primary accessories remain functional even if the compressor has an issue.

    Q: Does the K10420 use an automatic or manual belt tensioner?

    A: This kit comes standard with a spring-loaded automatic tensioner. For high-performance applications like auto-cross or track days, the upper arm includes a unique adjustment slot that allows you to increase tension or "lock out" the tensioner to prevent belt jump during rapid RPM changes.

    Q: What type of fittings do I need for the AC lines?

    A: For the best clearance, we recommend our straight manifold (PN K10550). This allows the AC hoses to route up and over the frame rails, protecting the lines and providing a cleaner installation in tight F-Body or GTO engine bays.
