LS Low-Mount AC bracket for Corvette (1997-2013) crank pulley and water pump spacing.*

This bracket mounts the “mini” Sanden SD7B10 (7176) compressor in the stock AC location. The “mini” compressor is shorter than the stock compressor. This allows clearance for most aftermarket motor mount adaptors that locate the motor in “stock” position.

Our overall width is just 12.5” from the center of the engine to the outer edge of the compressor. This also has an advantage over the stock compressor for frame / crossmember clearance. May not work with Holley Gen 1 or 2 Camaro engine mounts or slotted, adjustable style mounts.

This is a great solution for LSA/Supercharged motors that do not have space to mount bracketry on the passenger side head.

    Q: Which engine applications and balancer offsets are compatible with the K10355 bracket?

    A: We engineered this bracket specifically for the "Short" offset, which corresponds to the 1997–2013 Corvette, CTS-V, and Pontiac G8 harmonic balancer spacing. Because it is a low-mount design, it is ideal for builders who want to keep the top of their engine clean or have limited hood clearance but plenty of room down low near the frame. It is also an excellent solution for LSA supercharged engines, where the added complexity of a dedicated supercharger belt makes it difficult to add an aftermarket compressor to the primary accessory drive.

    Q: Which AC compressor is required for this specific bracket?

    A: The K10355 is designed exclusively for the Sanden SD7B10 "Mini" compressor. We chose this compressor because its compact footprint allows for a low-mount position that often clears frame rails and crossmembers where a full-sized Sanden or a factory GM compressor might interfere. It will not fit the larger SD7H15 or the variable-displacement factory compressors.

    Q: Does this bracket system require a dedicated belt or does it run off the main serpentine belt?

    A: This system utilizes a dedicated 4-rib belt that runs off the inner-most track of the Corvette harmonic balancer, just like the factory AC setup. By keeping the AC on its own belt, we ensure that even in the unlikely event of a compressor failure, your primary accessories—alternator, water pump, and power steering—remain functional.

    Q: Does the K10355 use an automatic or manual belt tensioner?

    A: This bracket series comes standard with a spring-loaded automatic tensioner to maintain consistent pressure and simplify maintenance. However, we have designed the upper arm of the bracket with a unique adjustment slot. This allows you to increase initial belt tension or even "lock out" the tensioner for high-performance use, such as auto-cross events or track-day activities, where extreme RPM changes might otherwise cause belt jump.

    Q: Will I run into interference issues with my frame or crossmember?

    A: While the "Mini" compressor is significantly smaller than a standard unit, we mount the compressor in the lower passenger-side factory location. We recommend measuring your specific chassis, especially in classic muscle car swaps. In some narrow-frame applications, minor notched clearance of the crossmember may still be required, though this bracket is significantly more "swap-friendly" than the bulky OEM cast aluminum brackets.

    Q: Is the serpentine belt included with the K10355 kit?

    A: Yes, this bracket kit includes the correct 4-rib belt and the automatic tensioner to ensure you have a complete solution out of the box. If you ever need a replacement, we provide suggested belt lengths and Gates part numbers in our installation instructions. For those using non-standard pulley diameters, a complete Gates belt chart is available on the Kwik Performance website for fine-tuning.

    Q: Can I use this bracket with a truck or F-Body/GTO balancer?

    A: No. Serpentine belt alignment is critical for belt life and performance. The K10355 is strictly for the Corvette/Short spacing. If you are running Truck/SUV spacing ("Long") or F-Body/GTO spacing ("Medium"), you will need to select the specific Kwik Performance bracket designed for those offsets to ensure the belt tracks straight.

    Q: What type of fittings do I need for the AC lines?

    A: While 90-degree fittings are common for AC, we have found that this low-mount setup works best with our straight manifold (PN K10550). Using this manifold allows the AC hoses to exit the compressor and route up and over the frame rails, keeping the lines safe from road debris and providing a cleaner look in the engine bay.
