Q: Which engine applications and balancer offsets are compatible with the K10421 bracket?

A: We designed this bracket for the "Long" offset. This includes 1999–2013 GM Truck and SUV (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L) engines, as well as 2010–2015 LS3 and L99 Camaro engines. This is an ideal solution for builders using the Gen 5 Camaro or Truck accessory drive who want a compact, low-mount AC setup that keeps the engine bay looking clean.

Q: Which AC compressor is required for this specific bracket?

A: The K10421 requires the Sanden SD7B10 "Mini" compressor. Its small footprint is essential for fitting into the lower passenger-side location while maintaining clearance for the larger truck-style water pumps and the wider belt spacing of the "Long" harmonic balancers.

Q: Does this bracket system include a belt?

A: Yes, the K10421 kit includes the correct 4-rib belt and the automatic tensioner. If a replacement is ever needed, we provide suggested Gates part numbers in our installation instructions. You can also refer to the Gates belt chart on our website for fine-tuning if you are using non-standard pulley sizes.

Q: How does the tensioner system work on this bracket?

A: We include a spring-loaded automatic tensioner for "set it and forget it" reliability. Like our other low-mount brackets, the upper arm features an adjustment slot. This gives you the option to manually increase initial tension or "lock out" the tensioner for high-performance use, such as auto-cross or track days, to prevent belt whip at high RPM.

Q: What type of fittings do I need for the AC lines?

A: This low-mount setup is optimized for our straight manifold (PN K10550). It enables the hoses to exit the compressor and route up and over the frame rails, ensuring the lines clear the crossmember and stay away from road obstacles or hot exhaust components.
