Wide Mount Mini Serpentine Package for your Truck Pull-out Engine

Here’s a complete Chevy LS serpentine system with the advantages of a Sanden Mini AC compressor.

Your local auto recycler is a great source for inexpensive LS horsepower.  But, the front drive systems on LS truck engines aren’t always swap friendly.

Our Kwik Wide Mount Mini Pull-Out Package gives you a whole fresh front drive system with the advantages of a Sanden Mini AC compressor. The mini compressor reduces the overall width by just over one inch, saves a few pounds and is rated for higher RPM.

This serpentine system is similar to our original wide-mount package but this one uses the Sanden mini compressor instead of the larger HD compressor.  We include an LS3 Corvette balancer and water pump and this turns your truck engine into the shortest LS package.

It also works nicely with low profile intake manifolds.

*The supplied Corvette harmonic balancer will not work with truck engines with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) due to the thicker timing cover. However, many aftermarket sources have VVT delete kits consisting of a new timing cover, cam sprocket and bolts. Simply search for “VVT delete kit”.


All LS based truck engines starting in 2010 came equipped with VVT.
Some 6.0L and 6.2L engines starting in 2007 also have VVT.

FAQs

Q: What is a "Pull-Out" package?

A: It is designed for builders who have bought a used "pull-out" LS truck engine from a recycler. These engines usually come with high-mount alternators and low-mount AC compressors that hit frame rails. Or, your pull-out engine may have arrived with no front brackets or accessories at all. The K10740 gives you a complete system with brand-new, swap-friendly components. 

Q: Does this kit include a water pump and balancer?

A: Yes. The K10740 includes a new LS3 Corvette-style water pump and a new harmonic balancer. This is necessary to convert your truck engine’s long belt spacing to the "short" Corvette spacing for maximum clearance.

Compatibility & Fitment

Q: Which engines will this fit?

A: It fits virtually all LS-based truck engines (Gen 3 and Gen 4), including the popular LM7, L33, L59, LQ4, LQ9, and LY6.

Q: Why does this kit use Corvette spacing on a truck engine?

A: Corvette spacing is the "shortest" (closest to the block) spacing GM made. By switching your truck engine to this spacing, you gain roughly 1.5 to 2 inches of room at the front of the engine, which is critical for radiator and fan clearance in older cars.

Q: Will my truck intake manifold still work?

A: Yes. Even though the kit uses Corvette-style spacing for the belt, the "Wide Mount" bracket design is specifically engineered to clear the taller factory LS truck intake manifolds.

Components & Specs

Q: Which AC compressor does the K10740 use?

A: It uses the Sanden SD7B10 "Mini" compressor. It is lighter, smaller, and rated for higher continuous RPM than the standard "HD" Sanden 508 compressors.

Q: What alternator is included?

A: The kit features a 165 Amp Powermaster alternator with a 4-pin plug. This provides more than enough power for electric cooling fans, fuel pumps, and modern stereos.

Q: Is the power steering pump compatible with my steering box?

A: The kit includes a Type 2 (CB series) pump. It is highly versatile and works with most GM steering boxes and many racks. It also includes a remote reservoir and feed hose.

Installation & Support

Q: Do I need special tools to install the new balancer?

A: Yes, you will need an LS-specific harmonic balancer installation tool (do not use the bolt to pull the balancer on). A new balancer bolt is included in the kit.

Q: What if I need a replacement belt?

A: The kit includes a standard 6-rib Gates serpentine belt. The part number is included in your instruction manual and can be cross-referenced at any local auto parts store.
