Wide Mount Mini Serpentine Package for your LS3 Crate Engine

Here’s a complete Chevy LS serpentine system with the advantages of a Sanden Mini AC compressor.

Most GM crate engines come with a Corvette balancer and water pump and little else, so we have combined a package of brackets and all the accessories you need to complete your engine.

Here’s why this is a good idea:

  • Your whole system comes from one source so you know it will fit and be complete.
  • You will save time—no more chasing parts from a bunch of different suppliers.
  • Warranty and tech support comes from one source.

 

This serpentine system is similar to our original wide-mount package, but this one uses the Sanden mini compressor instead of the larger HD compressor.  The mini compressor reduces the overall width by just over one inch, saves a few pounds and is rated for higher RPM.


Location of the AC compressor and alternator makes for a nicely balanced engine bay.

Q: What engines is the K10739 kit designed for?

A: It is specifically engineered for GM LS3 Crate Engines (and other LS engines) that utilize the Corvette (closest-to-block) belt spacing.

Q: Does this kit include the water pump and balancer?

A: No. This kit is designed to "finish" a crate engine. It assumes you already have the factory LS3/Corvette water pump and harmonic balancer installed.

Q: Why should I choose the "Mini" version over the "HD" version?

A: The K10739 uses the Sanden SD7B10 Mini compressor. This makes the overall package roughly one inch narrower than the HD version, providing better clearance for tight engine bays while being rated for higher continuous RPM.

Component Details

Q: What kind of alternator is included?

A: The kit comes with a high-output 165 Amp Powermaster alternator. It features a standard 4-pin plug and provides plenty of juice for modern EFI systems and electric fans.

Q: Which power steering pump is used?

A: It includes a GM Type 2 (CB series) pump. It is designed for use with a remote reservoir (also included in the kit) to keep the engine profile low and clean.

Q: Does the kit come with a belt?

A: Yes, a premium Gates 6-rib serpentine belt is included, along with a Gates belt tensioner and the necessary idler pulleys.

Installation & Clearance

Q: Will this kit clear my frame rails?

A: This is a "Wide Mount" style kit. It moves the AC compressor and alternator up and out toward the cylinder heads. This is ideal for clearing the crossmembers in most muscle cars and trucks, but you should check for inner fender/hood clearance in very narrow engine bays.

Q: Can I buy replacement parts locally?

A: Yes. One of the biggest perks of Kwik Performance kits is that we use standard components. If you ever need a new belt, tensioner, or alternator, you can typically find them at any local auto parts store using the part numbers provided in the Kwik instruction manual.
