Q: What is the primary function of the K10326 bracket system? 

A: The K10326 is an "AC-delete" serpentine conversion system for the Small Block Chevy. It replaces the passenger-side A/C compressor with a dedicated bracket that mounts a modern, automatic spring-loaded tensioner. This allows hotrodders to run a high-performance serpentine setup without the bulk or expense of an A/C compressor.

Q: Which Small Block Chevy engines are compatible with this kit? 

A: This kit fits the classic Small Block Chevy platform (262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, and 400). It is compatible with both early and late cylinder head bolt patterns, including 1996+ Vortec heads.  Note:  early cylinder heads need to have at least one bolt hole.

Q: What components are included in the K10326 package? 

A: This is a complete conversion kit including CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum brackets for the Alternator and Power Steering, a passenger-side AC-delete tensioner bracket, a spring-loaded automatic tensioner, an idler pulley, a water pump pulley, and a crankshaft pulley. All necessary spacers and zinc-plated hardware are provided.

Q: Is a serpentine belt included in the box?

 A: No. Due to variations in alternator casing sizes and pulley diameters, the belt is not included. The installation manual provides a reference chart with suggested lengths and Gates part numbers. We recommend checking the tensioner marks to verify correct length.

Q: What water pump is required for the K10326 system? 

A:  The system is designed around the reverse-rotation "long" water pump found on 1988–1995 Chevy trucks. This pump measures approximately 7" from the block mounting surface to the fan hub. A standard-rotation "V-belt" water pump will not work with this serpentine belt routing.

Q: Which power steering pump should be used with this specific part number? 

A: The K10326 is designed for the classic Saginaw P-series "canned ham" power steering pump. The pump must have a press-on serpentine pulley. This is the most common GM pump found from about 1975 through the early 1990s and features a self-contained fluid reservoir.  We offer both a single-return port version or a dual-port for hydro-boost brake applications.

Q: Does this kit require a remote power steering reservoir? 

A: No. Because it utilizes the P-series pump, the fluid reservoir is integrated directly onto the pump body, simplifying your engine bay plumbing.

Q: Which alternator models are supported by the K10326? 

A: The bracket is designed to accommodate the GM CS130 (standard on 1980s-90s GM vehicles). It also accepts modern high-output 1-wire units like the PowerMaster, PN 87861.

Q: Will this bracket system clear tall aftermarket valve covers? 

A: Yes. By mounting the accessories and the tensioner "high and tight" to the engine, this kit provides ample clearance for most tall, aluminum, or fabricated aftermarket valve covers.

Q: Can I add an A/C compressor to this system later? 

A: Yes. Because this kit uses a dedicated tensioner bracket on the passenger side, you can upgrade to air conditioning later by replacing that specific bracket with a Kwik Performance Sanden Mini A/C bracket and changing the belt length. This upgrade kit is not on our website so just email or call.
