Whether you are upgrading your old v-belt system or starting with a fresh build, our SBC serpentine package delivers performance and value. Our philosophy is to design our systems around accessories that are easily found in any parts store. It's a perfect option for C10s, OBS trucks, and muscle cars. 

This bracket system mounts a tried and true LS tensioner on the passenger cylinder head to give automatic tension regardless of weather, belt load from the alternator or power steering pump. It just works really well.

The alternator and power steering are tucked in tight in front of the driver side for maximum steering box clearance. It mounts a standard CS130 alternator that came on Chevy trucks in the early 1990s. It mounts the compact GM Type 2 power steering pump. We sell a new all aluminum pump with a 5.5" pulley that works with a remote reservoir for suspension and steering clearance.

The system is based around the reverse rotation "long" water pump found on 1988-1995 Chevy trucks.

-The system is driven by one main 6-rib serpentine belt.

-Fits all classic Gen 1 SBC engines (1969 and later) or requires cylinder head with at least one threaded hole on passenger side.

-Clears tall valve covers.

    Q: What is the primary function of the K10325 bracket system?

    A: This is an "AC-delete" serpentine conversion for the Small Block Chevy. It replaces the passenger-side AC compressor with a dedicated bracket that mounts a modern, automatic spring-style tensioner. This provides the same maintenance-free belt tension as a full accessory system for builders who do not require air conditioning.

    Q: Which Small Block Chevy engines are compatible with this kit?

    A: It fits all classic Gen 1 SBC engines (1969 and later). The passenger-side cylinder head must have at least one threaded mounting hole to accommodate the tensioner bracket. It is compatible with displacements from 262 to 400 cubic inches, including Vortec heads.

    Q: What components are included in the K10325 package?

    A: The K10325 is designed for the compact GM Type-2 power steering pump. We recommend our all-aluminum pump with a 5.5" pulley (PN 10206-06) and our remote reservoir (PN K10267).

    Q: What type of alternator does this bracket system mount?

    A: The bracket is designed to accommodate the GM CS130 (standard on 1980s-90s GM vehicles). It also accepts modern high-output 1-wire units like the PowerMaster, PN 87861.

    Q: Does this kit require a specific crankshaft pulley?

    A: Yes, and it is included. The kit provides a dedicated SBC serpentine crank pulley. Unlike some other platforms, you do not need to hunt for a donor pulley or adapter; the provided unit ensures proper 6-rib belt alignment with the other accessories.

    Q: How is the serpentine belt length determined?

    A: This system is driven by a single 6-rib belt. Because alternator and power steering pulley sizes can vary, a belt is not included. The installation instructions provide suggested Gates part numbers and lengths. Always verify the fitment by checking the tensioner’s operating range marks after installation.

    Q: Will this bracket system clear tall aftermarket valve covers?

    A: Yes. The high-mount design of the tensioner and the tight-mount driver-side accessories clear tall, performance-style valve covers.

    Q: Can I add A/C to this system later?

    A: Yes. Since this kit uses a dedicated tensioner bracket on the passenger side where an AC compressor would normally sit, you can "upgrade" to an AC system in the future. You would simply replace the AC-delete tensioner bracket with a Kwik Performance Sanden Mini compressor bracket.  This upgrade is not on our website but we’d be happy to add it for you.  Just email or call.
