Before you think about ordering a Kwik Performance serpentine drive system, make sure you know which harmonic balancer your engine has. All the rest of the brackets and accessories have to line up with the balancer. Why? The balancer also serves as the crank pulley with belt grooves machined into the outer surface of the balancer.
Even if you think you know which engine you have, it’s still a good idea to confirm the balancer. Because most LS balancers are interchangeable, you never know if it’s been swapped out at some point. So, when we describe a bracket fitting a “Corvette” engine, we really don’t care what engine it is, we care about what balancer it has.
We’re showing three ways to measure. Use whichever one is easiest. Remember that your measurement doesn’t have to be ultra precise. The three different belt paths are approximately three quarters of an inch apart so a rough measurement should be close enough.
Method A - Measuring LS balancer depth from timing cover face to front edge
Method B - Measuring LS crank pulley offset from bolt face to front edge
