If you've been following Kwik Performance, you know we made a name for ourselves by solving the AC hose nightmare for the 1988-98 Chevy OBS trucks. But we know the square body crowd has been feeling the heat too.

You're knee-deep in a C10 build, you've swapped in a reliable Sanden compressor, you want to keep your factory AC system and then you hit the wall: The hoses.

The AC Specialist Tax vs. The DIY Headache

Until now, you generally had two choices when plumbing a modern compressor into a classic C10:

  1. The Custom Shop Route: You took your truck to an AC specialist shop and paid "custom" shop rates for someone to build AC hoses on-site. It's expensive and it eats up your build timeline.
  2. The DIY Struggle: You spent hours hunting down obscure fittings online, ordered bulk hose, and bought a $150 hand-crimper you'll likely never use again. All the while praying your garage crimps don't leak $80 worth of refrigerant the first time you turn the key.

At Kwik Performance, we think there's a better way. We've engineered a ready-to-bolt-on solution that brings professional, factory-quality plumbing to your garage.

The Kwik Advantage: Professional Grade. No Guesswork.

We aren't just sending you a box of parts; we're sending you a precision-engineered system.

  • Ready-Made: No cutting, no measuring, and no "close enough." These are built to the correct length for your specific year-range and compressor choice.
  • Machine Crimped: Every hose is crimped on a professional-grade hydraulic machine, ensuring a leak-proof seal that a hand tool simply can't match.
  • The Kwik-Exclusive Fitting: This is the real game-changer. Our AC hose kits include a custom-engineered fitting you won't find anywhere else. It features a built-in service port and a trinary safety switch port, keeping your engine bay clean and your system protected without the need for extra "T" fittings or messy adapters.

Two Generations, Two Solutions

Because GM changed the AC layout midway through the square body's life, we've designed two distinct kits to ensure your install is seamless.

1973-1980: The Total Front-End Refresh

On these earlier trucks, the factory condenser often had its connections on the driver side. Since you're mounting your Sanden compressor on the passenger side, that's where we need the condenser fittings to be.

Our Solution: We've made a new high-efficiency condenser standard for this kit. By moving the connections to the passenger side, we keep your hose runs short and your engine bay looking surgical. You just have to pick which compressor you're going to use. Here's our full 1973-80 C10 AC Hose and Condenser kit for those using the Sanden HD compressor. And this is the C10 AC Hose and Condenser Kit for those using the Sanden Mini.

  • What's Included: High-efficiency condenser, high-pressure hose, suction hose, new liquid line, trinary safety switch and a fresh accumulator/drier.

1981-1987: Optimized Performance

By the early 80s the factory condenser usually had passenger-side ports. If your existing unit is still in good shape and has the fittings on the passenger side, you shouldn't have to replace it just to get modern hoses.

  • The Kit: Includes the high-pressure hose, suction hose, liquid line, and drier.
  • The Option: If your condenser is looking tired or clogged, we offer the same modern high-efficiency condenser upgrade with year-specific mounting brackets as an optional add-on.

Here's the 1981-87 C10 AC Hose and Condenser Kit for Sanden HD compressor users and a C10 AC Hose and Condenser kit for Sanden Mini users.

If you choose to stick with your factory condenser or otherwise don't need one, we have kits without the condenser as well. Here's the kit for the Sanden Mini. And here's the one for those using the Sanden HD.

Picking Your Pumping Unit

Whether you're keeping your C10 old-school with a small block engine, dropping in a big block, or doing a modern LS swap, we support the industry-standard Sanden compressors:

  • Sanden HD/709 Style: For those who want maximum BTU output.
  • Sanden Mini (SD7B10): The perfect choice for tight clearances or a "tucked" look.

Stop Guessing. Start Cooling.

Don't let AC plumbing be the thing that keeps your C10 off the road this summer. Skip the custom shop prices and the DIY frustration. Get a kit that was built by Square Body guys for Square Body guys.
