Hose kits include:

#10 suction hose (1/2” ID, 1” OD)

-90 degree swivel from receiver/drier

-90 degree swivel with service port to compressor

#8 high pressure hose (13/32” ID, 29/32”OD)

-90 degree swivel with service port from compressor

-Straight swivel connects to safety switch fitting

-Safety switch fitting

-Safety switch (can be wired as binary or trinary)

-40 amp fan relay

-Bent ½” hard line with #8 male and female swivels connects to condenser

Q: Which vehicles does this kit fit? A: This kit is designed specifically for 1988–1990 OBS Chevy/GMC trucks that were originally equipped with R12 air conditioning systems.

Q: I have a 1990 truck; how do I know if this is the right kit? A: 1990 was a transition year. This kit (K10707) is for trucks with a condenser that has one male and one female connection. If your 1990 truck has two male connections at the condenser, you need kit K10669 instead. (See OBS condenser link above.)

Q: What AC compressor is compatible with this kit? A: This kit is engineered to work specifically with the Sanden Mini SD7B10 (7176) compressor. It will not fit the larger Sanden HD (508/709) or the original GM R4 compressor. If you need additional capacity, use our AC hose kit K10708 which works the Sanden HD, SD7H15 compressor.

Q: Do I need to crimp the hoses myself? A: No. All hoses in this kit come pre-crimped and clocked for a "bolt-on" installation, meaning no specialty hydraulic crimping tools are required.

Q: What additional parts are required for installation? A: To use this hose kit, you generally need:

• A Kwik Performance AC Bracket (such as the LS High & Tight K10780, BBC M4, or SBC Serpentine systems).
• A 90-degree manifold fitting kit (Kwik part #342310) for most bracket setups, or a straight manifold (Kwik part #K10550) if using the R4-to-Sanden conversion bracket.
• A new dryer. When opening an AC system it is always best practice to replace the dryer.

Q: Does this kit support a cooling fan? A: Yes. The kit includes a multi-function pressure switch (often called a trinary switch) and a 40-amp fan relay. This allows the system to protect the compressor from high or low pressure and automatically trigger your electric cooling fans when AC head pressure rises.

Q: Where are the service ports located? A: For easy maintenance and charging, service ports are built directly into both the suction (#10) and discharge (#8) lines at the compressor.

Q: How are the hoses routed? A: The kit features a custom-bent hard line that mimics factory-style routing. This ensures a clean look in the engine bay and prevents the hoses from rubbing against other engine components.

Q: What type of refrigerant should I use? A: While these kits are used to upgrade older R12 trucks, they are designed for use with modern R134a refrigerant once the system has been properly vacuumed and converted.
